Internal Systems Administrator

Digital Map Products is looking for an energetic and personable Internal Systems Administrator to bolster our IT team.

Reporting to the IT Manager, you will be monitoring and troubleshooting a variety of environments and technologies to ensure Digital Map Products maintains its 99.9% uptime while also providing an excellent work experience for your fellow co-workers and their use of technology.

What you will do:

  • Monitor and maintain system performance and uptime using dashboards and homegrown monitoring applications while following established protocol and process.
  • Documenting new procedures and process while updating older ones.
  • Maintain the IT Asset Inventory ensuring it is up to date and accurate.
  • Maintain our in-office IT Room / Storage and ensure adequate inventory is available for use at our Irvine location.
  • Work directly with the IT Manager on directed tasks and research projects.
  • Facilitate upgrades and maintenance in our Data Centers.
  • Troubleshoot daily technical issues and questions for remote and office users.
  • Be a part of our on-call rotation to address critical production issues outside of normal business hours.

Who you are:

  • Have at least 2 years of working experience in an IT Help Desk, Systems Admin or related position.
  • Technically adept and familiar with Windows Server (2008, 2012, 2016), Windows (8 and 10), Linux (Ubuntu and CoreOS), Mac OS, Windows Domain and Administration of it, Sharepoint, Microsoft Office, Networking concepts (IP addresses, subnets, etc.), Networked Printers, Monitoring Dashboards (PRTG, Pingdom, etc.), IT Ticketing Systems, Cisco Systems (Firewalls, Switches, and Routers), VOIP, and general IT Troubleshooting.
  • You are personable and approachable and can handle mundane and repetitive questions / tasks with a smile and pleasant demeanor which will encourage your co-workers to utilize your help.
  • You have a high attention to detail.
  • You can follow directions.
  • You have a logical way of thinking to troubleshoot new issues to find solutions.
  • You are self-reliant and able to self-manage your time on a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Passionate about IT and have a thirst to learn and understand new technologies.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to quickly understand and explain complex concepts to diverse audiences in both written and oral formats.
  • Can handle a fast-paced environment where you must triage multiple tasks by order of importance.
  • Ability to drive to our Irvine Data Center as needed.
