For the last 18 years, we've been on a mission to make location technology accessible and easy to use. We've now successfully embedded our location intelligence platform into the everyday workflows of over 350,000 users in North America. Our impact now includes over half the U.S. population every day. In 2019, DMP was acquired by LightBox.

We've Come a Long Way, But We're Far From Done

  • December 1995
    Original Concept Launch
    We launched our company’s original concept as a joint venture with Psomas Engineering and Thomas Bros Maps.
  • April 1997
    First Customer
    We signed our first customer – the City of Santa Ana, CA (still a customer today) – the first deployment of a B2B SaaS application embedding spatial technology called CityGIS.
  • October 2000
    First DMP Office
    We opened our first DMP office with 5 employees in Costa Mesa, CA – now independent from the joint venture.
  • November 2001
    First GIS Application
    We previewed CityGIS2 on its own platform, highlighting the first online GIS application with “dynamic pan and zoom” capability.
