Last modified: June 25, 2014

Welcome. Your privacy is very important to us, so we’ve developed a Privacy Policy that covers how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, and store your information. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our privacy practices and let us know if you have any questions.

By using our Site or our Products, you signify your assent to this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy may change from time to time, so please check back periodically to ensure that you are aware of any changes. Your continued use will signify your acceptance of these changes.

Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies only to Personally Identifiable Information (PII) collected by Digital Map Products (DMP) through your use of our web applications and related services (“Products”) or visitation to our website where this policy is posted (the “Site”) and does not apply to any other information collected by us and our affiliates through any other means. DMP and its affiliates are collectively referred to in this Privacy Policy as “DMP,” “we,” or “us.” Please note that DMP may allow you to navigate away from our Site or products at times to third-party websites outside of our control, so it is important to understand that those situations are outside the scope of this policy.

Here is what we will cover in this Privacy Policy:

  • The information we collect
  • How we use your Personally Identifiable Information
  • What cookies and web beacons are and how we use them
  • What internet protocol addresses are
  • How we secure your information
  • How to contact us
  • How we may update our privacy policy
  • Our agreement

The Information We Collect

We collect information when you access our Products or Site, or when you register with us. When you access our Products or Site, our servers automatically receive and log information from your browser, including information from your device (such as your hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, location, and available mobile network information), IP address, cookie information, and the pages and functionality you request, and may relate it to the information you provide. We use this information to fulfill your requests for products and services, to improve our Products, to analyze usage of our Products, to contact you, and to facilitate reporting to internal and external stakeholders. When you register to use our products, you may provide us with your real name, e-mail address, phone number, address, as well as personal security question answer(s) so that we can verify your identity if you lose your credentials. Once you have registered or have purchased our Products, we reserve the right to send you communications, such as service announcements, administrative messages, and marketing messages.

How We Use Your Personally Identifiable Information

We use your Personally Identifiable Information for internal and Product-related purposes only. We do not rent, sell, or share Personally Identifiable Information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies, except to provide Products you’ve requested, when we have your permission, or in some cases to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with us under confidentiality agreements in order to help us communicate with, offer, and deliver Products to you.

We may disclose your PII when requested to do so by a court or law enforcement agency, or where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Use or other contractual Agreements, to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our products and applicable laws, or as otherwise required or permitted by law. In addition, we reserve the right to transfer all Personally Identifiable Information and other information in our system if we or one of our business units are acquired by, sold to, or merged with another company.

What Cookies and Web Beacons Are and How We Use Them

Like many web sites, we may use a software technology called “cookies.” Cookies are small text files that we place in visitors’ computer browsers to store their preferences. Cookies themselves do not contain any PII. “Web beacons” are small pieces of code placed on a web page to monitor the behavior and collect data about the visitors viewing a web page. For example, web beacons can be used to count the users who visit a web page or to deliver a cookie to the browser of a visitor viewing that page. We may use web beacons on our Site from time to time for this purpose.

What Internet Protocol Addresses Are

An Internet protocol (“IP”) address is the unique number assigned to your server or Internet Service Provider (“ISP”). Like many web sites, we may track such IP addresses for system administration, to report aggregate information, site tracking, or to prevent our servers from being abused.

How We Secure Your Information

We have taken steps to assure that all information collected will remain secure and in its original form, i.e. free from any alteration. Access to all PII is strictly controlled. We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures in an effort to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access and to maintain data security.

How We May Update our Privacy Policy

From time to time, we may use PII for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our Privacy Policy. If our information practices change we will immediately post any adjustments to our policy on this website. This will serve as your notification of these changes. If you are concerned about how your information is used, bookmark this page and check back periodically.
