This Year in Location Intelligence: Looking Back at a Successful 2018December 31, 2018Digital Map ProductsBy: Jason HolteShare: TwitterFacebookLinkedInEmailAs the year comes to an end, we’re recapping a few of the major milestones — location intelligence and otherwise — that we reached in 2018.Like all of you eagerly waiting for the ball to drop in Times Square, we’ve spent the past few days reflecting on the year we are about to leave behind. 2018 has been an exciting year here at Digital Map Products, and as we look back, there are many achievements for which we feel an equal amount of pride and excitement. We are proud of what our world-class team has accomplished this year, and we are excited to see how their tireless work will propel us to new heights in 2019 and the years that follow. Take a stroll down memory lane with us as we recap a few of the major milestones that we achieved this year. A Successful Year of Growth in Our New Irvine HomeIn early December, we marked the one-year anniversary of the move of our California headquarters into UCI Research Park. Our new office is roughly twice the size of our old digs, which made it the perfect space to grow our team. This past June, we officially hired Digital Map Products employee number 150! Being located in such close proximity to Irvine City Hall has its perks as well. We were proud to exhibit at the city’s GIS Day celebration in November.Dedication to Customer SuccessCustomer success is one of our core values. It’s imperative to us that our location intelligence platform far exceeds the expectations of our customers, and needless to say, we’re always excited when our customers take the time to share their success stories with us. This year, we hosted a customer appreciation day with Steve Eimer of Southern California Edison. Over the course of the day, Steve had a chance to meet numerous members of our team to talk about his team’s experience with LandVision™, and to ask and answer questions that should lead to continued success in the future. Check out this video we made to learn more! Major Advancements Made to Our Location Intelligence PlatformOur team is constantly hard at work adding new features and functionality to our products and services, and 2018 was no exception. This year alone, we’ve introduced an expanded search functionality within our map-based real estate application, Landvision, and we’ve made major enhancements to our LandVision mobile application. Our December release also included a significant upgrade of the demographic, point of interest, and traffic data available in LandVision, and we also debuted a highly sought-after data layer: qualified tax opportunity zones. Any data that is released for LandVision is also available via our SpatialStream® web service, which allows you to stream our map-ready content into the applications you already use in real time! For Esri ArcGIS users, SpatialStream also received an upgrade that now gives you three ways to stream our nationwide parcel database, SmartParcels®, into your platform. Learn more about our bi-directional integration with ArcGIS! Location Intelligence Partnerships, Awards, and RecognitionWe had the opportunity to build a relationship with a key player in the real estate space in 2018. As an affinity program provider for CCIM Institute, we are proud to provide a preferred rate for access to LandVision to all CCIM members. In the awards and recognition category, we received two major honors this year. LandVision was a finalist in the 2018 SaaS Awards, and we were named a Real Estate Tech Awards winner by CRETech in December! It has been an exciting year at Digital Map Products, and we are excited to see what 2019 has in store for us and for location intelligence as a whole.
