Jim Skurzynski, President, and CEO
As one of Digital Map Products’ founders, Jim has turned the company’s vision of simplifying spatial technology and bringing it to a wider audience into reality.
Digital Map Products was the first in its industry to deploy Internet-based spatial applications through a Software-as-a-Service model. In addition to driving innovation at Digital Map Products, Jim has led the company to several consecutive years of record sales and profitability. The company’s current offerings include SaaS applications, a spatial development platform, and location content solutions all of which enhance decision-making and problem-solving in markets such as government, utilities, and real estate.
Jim’s career has been distinguished by his ability to extend the value of complex technology to new markets and users by simplifying its use and employing cost-effective delivery models. Prior to Digital Map Products, Jim was Managing Partner at JSA International where he advised international organizations in the creation of cross-border spatial technology partnerships. Before JSA International, Jim founded a company that helped Mexico’s federal government convert their real property information to digital format. Early in his career, Jim successfully built and sold a company that pioneered a new class of affordable Computer Aided Design/Engineering software for small and mid-sized architectural and engineering firms using a timeshare model that was similar to what we know today as SaaS.
Geoff Wade, Chief Technology Officer
Geoff is responsible for the company’s overall technology development, product management, and engineering initiatives, generating spatial based SaaS technology and data offerings for business and government.
During his time at Digital Map Products, Geoff’s vision and foresight have fostered the creation and development of the company’s suite of leading spatial solutions, including mapping development platform SpatialStream, local government and real estate SaaS products GovClarity and LandVision.
Geoff has held senior engineering positions with companies in the GIS industry, including Thomas Bros. Maps and Intergraph. Geoff has 30 years of experience in technology systems and engineering.
A functional and industry expert, Geoff has deep working knowledge of technology, mapping, and data visualization. Geoff received his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Sydney.
Thomas R. Patterson, Jr., Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Finance
Tom is engaged in driving the strategic direction and successful operations of the company and responsible for managing all financial & administration functions. He has more than 20 years of experience in accounting, finance, corporate development and operations roles in both public and private technology companies.
Prior to joining Digital Map Products, Tom served as the CFO of Kareo, a cloud-based medical office software, and services company, where he managed the company through annual revenue growth in excess of 40% and raised more than $100m in capital to fund the operations of the business. Before Kareo, Tom served as the CFO for Teletrac, a private equity-backed SaaS company in the fleet management space successfully leading the company through a strategic combination with a Fortune 200 company. Tom also spent approximately nine years with Quest Software in various finance and operational leadership roles, driving the global growth of the company from approximately $200 million in revenue and 1,500 employees to more than $850 million in revenue and more than 4,000 employees. Preceding Quest Software, Tom spent over six years in various finance and corporate development roles at Citrix Systems supporting rapid growth from less than $100 million in revenue and 150 employees to more than $600 million in revenue and 1,500+ employees globally. He started his finance career in Public Accounting at KPMG and Ernst & Young.
Tom holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Politics, and a Master’s Degree in Taxation, both from the University of Miami, where he also won two national championships as a member of the University of Miami Hurricanes football team. Tom is also a licensed CPA by the State of Florida.
Annie Schwab, Vice President, Customer Success
Annie oversees the overall growth and direction of the company’s customer service initiatives. Her responsibilities include leading multiple teams in the pre-sales, implementation and customer support processes.
During her tenure at Digital Map Products, Annie launched Digital Map Products’ mapping development platform, SpatialStream, and drove the evolution of its local government and real estate SaaS products.
Prior to Digital Map Products, Annie was a strategy consultant for the aerospace and defense industry, advising clients on emerging technologies, complex data analysis, and competitive intelligence. She has held senior positions with Global Business Analysis, Kroll, and Andersen. Annie has over 13 years of experience in strategic consulting, marketing and technology.
A regularly featured speaker at industry conferences, Annie has expertise in mapping, cloud computing, and data visualization. Annie received both her MBA and her undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley.
Steve Stautzenbach, Vice President, Business Development
Steve leads the business development function to help the sales teams target and drive bigger deals for the company. During a previous engagement at Digital Map Products, Steve also served as Vice President, Sales & Marketing.
Prior to his current role at Digital Map Products, Steve led Business Development for Energy, Transportation & Utility sectors at CoreLogic, empowering customers with real estate data and services solutions for land and property decision-making. Previously, Steve has held senior executive roles in the software industry-leading teams at a number of start-up and fast growth firms.
Steve has expertise in location technology solutions, emerging technologies, and in driving the SaaS business model with over 25 years of experience in business development, strategic planning, product management, sales, and marketing.
Steve received his B.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and carries a Certificate in Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies from the Stanford Center for Professional Development.
Tim Tyrell-Smith, Vice President, Marketing
Tim is Vice President of Marketing and is responsible for marketing, brand strategy and demand generation. He is a strategic marketing executive who uses a powerful balance of traditional and modern strengths to develop, build and grow brands in today’s dynamic marketplace.
Prior to his current role at Digital Map Products, Tim served as the Director of Brand Marketing for Kareo, a software company focused on delivering cloud technology solutions to the complex healthcare market. While at Kareo, he drove dramatic increases in brand awareness and credibility resulting in a doubling of the customer base (to more than 40,000 doctors) and more than doubling the company’s revenue (to over $65 million) in three years.
Tim has held a variety of leadership positions at technology and consumer packaged goods companies. He started his career with Carnation Company (Nestle USA) in one of the great brand management boot camps. After Nestle, Tim received increasing responsibility working in product or brand management for a variety of other growth-oriented companies including Kensington Technology Group, Mauna Loa Macadamias, and Meguiar’s Car Wax. Tim’s experience also includes his work as a brand and business strategy consultant providing deep marketing and brand development guidance to companies across the United States.
Tim graduated with a B.A. in English from San Diego State University and earned his M.B.A. at Saint Mary’s College of California with a focus on Marketing and Finance.
Paul Franc, Vice President, Sales
As Vice President of Sales, Paul holds the pivotal role responsible for achieving the company’s organic growth targets. This includes development and execution of the sales vision and strategy for Digital Map Products, as well as integrated portfolio companies. All Digital Map Product sales staff report to Paul in this capacity.
Paul has a proven record of over-achievement in B2B companies. He has over 20-years of experience in building, managing, and developing enterprise Software-as-a-Service sales teams and go-to-market strategies. Paul joined Digital Map Products through the company’s acquisition of DMTI Spatial, Canada’s leader in the field of location analytics, providing real-time integrated location solutions, location analytics and location data products.
Prior to DMTI Spatial, Paul was Regional Vice President/National Sales Director at Oracle responsible for Customer Experience Service Automation. Prior to that, Paul was Vice President of Corporate Sales at Salesforce.com, responsible for Northeast US and Eastern Canada territories. He also has extensive leadership experience within telecommunications and managed IT services.
Paul holds Bachelor of Commerce and Economics degrees from Queen’s University.
Tara Bleakley, Director of Data Analytics
Tara is responsible for the company’s data strategy, ensuring that the data availability, quality, and integrity satisfy all the data science and analytic needs.
Tara brings more than 20 years of experience in the building and real estate industry. including information analysis, custom research, product development, product management, GIS analysis, property evaluation and experience in business development, sales and marketing.
Prior to Digital Map Products, Tara was the Director of Market Research for Brookfield Residential, a leading North American land developer and home builder, where she supported all disciplines within the organization and designed analytic specific tools for land acquisition, monitoring housing markets and forecasting. Tara has held senior director and project management roles with companies including The Irvine Company, CoreLogic, John Burns Real Estate Consulting and Meyers Group.
Tara received her undergraduate degree from Concordia University (Sir George Williams University) and earned her Master in Residential Marketing (MIRM) the top-level achievement for professionals in new home marketing. She holds a U.S. Patent US13530431 for systems and methods for automated valuation of real estate developments.
Steven Cheng, Director of Data Development
Steven oversees his team in developing and maintaining a large-scale spatial data warehouse fuelling the company’s location technology and content product offerings.
Steven has extensive training and experience in spatial data modeling and integration, database administration and development, and technology development as well as expertise in GIS. Steven brings a unique ability to add business value to GIS data by aggregating data from disparate sources to enable meaningful analysis.
Steven received a degree in Surveying Engineering from National Chung Kung University in Taiwan, and a Master’s degree in Geodetic Science & Surveying with a specialization in Digital Mapping and Geographical Information Science from Ohio State University.
Steven has also participated in training and education programs from institutions including ESRI and Oracle Taipei Education in Taiwan.
Diane Rettew, Director of Human Resources & Talent Acquisition
Diane is responsible for developing human resource strategies designed to attract, develop and retain superior employee talent.
For over a decade, Diane has been recognized as one of the leading career consultants in Southern California. She has an extensive history of successfully assisting hundreds of professionals, senior managers and executives with their transition into new positions and exciting careers. Diane has also assisted many organizations by continually attracting and securing key talent for them.
Diane’s diverse industry background includes banking, digital media/advertising, manufacturing, career marketing and pharmaceutical testing. She has worked with companies such as Security Pacific National Bank and Manufacturers Hanover Trust as well as Exponential Interactive, Institute for Biological Research & Development and Rainguard International. Diane has expertise in many areas including strategic planning, new business development, key account management, talent acquisition, client relations, sales and marketing, new product introduction, and advertising.
Diane attended Pace University-Lubin School of Business in New York City where she received her B.B.A. in Marketing.
Dennis Fox, Director of Customer Success
Dennis leads the Customer Success and the Account Management Teams at Digital Map Products. He is responsible for customer success outcomes including an increase of renewal rates, reduction in churn, new customer onboarding, support services, training, and account management.
In this role, Dennis also identifies opportunities to bring value to customers through product features and services, increased product adoption, and overall account health and customer satisfaction. Dennis brings more than 20 years of customer success experience in building out teams and processes to ensure Customer Success teams are successful.
Prior to Digital Map Products, Dennis was a Director, Client Services for the Real Estate Coach Tom Ferry, where he was working closely with Sales, Marketing, Coaches, and Product Management to ensure that the Client Services division facilitates company goals and customer growth.
His career began in 1999 with a small SaaS startup company called LiveOffice/AdvisorSquare (Acquired by Symantec in 2012) where he was responsible for defining and executing the Web Services strategy. Dennis has held VP of Customer Success & Operations, and Director roles with companies including Symantec, Smarsh, Customer Focus Software.
Dennis received his undergraduate degree from the University of California Berkeley.
Jennifer Franks, Director of Legal Operations & Contract Management
Jennifer is responsible for overseeing all legal operations and contract management functions at the company.
Prior to Digital Map Products, Jennifer spent 17 years in various management and director level positions. Most recently at Quest Software and Dell Technologies, she successfully established and managed cross-functional legal teams worldwide. This encompassed advising the Dell Global Solutions and Latin America legal teams while establishing best cost locations for legal resources and coordinating all legal operational efforts. Her responsibilities included extensive travel to Asia and Europe to help hire and train new staff while providing contract negotiation training and support to both the sales and M&A teams. Jennifer also played an active role in divesting and acquiring companies within both organizations.
She is skilled in optimizing technology and resources within large and small scale legal groups and has a wide range of experience negotiating complex licensing transactions in the global marketplace.
Jennifer graduated with a B.A. degree in both Political Science and English from San Diego State University and holds a law degree from Chapman University School of Law.
